Dr. Rafif Abdulaziz Mahmood Mohmood Assistant Professor of Pathology, QU

Dr Rafif received her MBChB from Basrah Medical College (Iraq) in 1991 and obtained her fellowship in Pathology from the Iraqi Board for Medical Specialisation in 1998. Dr Rafif also obtained the European Board of Pathology in 2008 and a Diplomate membership from the Royal College of Pathologists (UK) in 2019. Dr Rafif started her teaching career in Basrah Medical College as a lecturer for undergraduate and postgraduate medical and pharmacy students. In addition, she worked as a consultant pathologist at Basrah Teaching Hospital, was the head of the cytology laboratory at the Basrah Centre for Early Detection of Breast Cancer, and participated in the cancer control program in Basrah. She moved to Qatar in 2005 and established the histopathology and cytology laboratory section at Al Ahli Hospital. She joined Qatar University College of Medicine in 2020 as an Assistant Professor of Pathology. She has published numerous peer-reviewed academic works in the field of pathology. Her main interests include the early diagnosis of cancer, strategies for cancer screening programs and control, and cancer biology and behaviour, as well as understanding disease pathology and various diagnostic modalities. She has a special interest in the application of artificial intelligence in medicine and pathology.

Dr. Muhammad Enamul Hoque Chowdhury Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, QU

Muhammad E. H. Chowdhury earned his Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham, U.K., in 2014. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre, University of Nottingham. Now an Assistant Professor and program coordinator in Electrical Engineering at Qatar University. He has 10 patents, over 350 peer-reviewed journal articles, 30+ conference papers, several book chapters and 4 edited books. His research focuses on machine learning, biomedical instrumentation, signal processing, wearable sensors, and medical image analysis. He manages several grants and academic projects (~6M USD). He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and has won multiple awards, including the gold medal in the 13th International Invention Fair in the Middle East (IIFME) event.
