About Us
I would like to welcome everyone to our page. You are invited to visit the Center for Academic Advising's pages and to communicate with the Center through email and through the advisors personally. We have listed our contact information for your use.
The Center for Academic Advising is a newly developed center, established in 2012. While the Center has met with a well-received and productive start, we would like to encourage you all to help in developing it further. We believe that your opinion as a stakeholder is the most important element in creating a lively center which attends to the students' expectations, challenges and needs.
The Center for Academic Advising plays a very important role in the retention and persistence of Qatar University students. The secret is that we as advisors are trying to establish a close relation with the students, so we can identify and attend to their academic and non-academic needs. Walking this path, we will not settle for being someone who provides the students with a piece of paper containing what courses to register for. We want to help students in understanding the university's environment. Also, we would like to create communication channels between the students and the university's community in general.
We are a group of full-time academic advisors who are completely dedicated to spending the sufficient time with students individually to help them reach their academic goals for which they joined the university. Thus, we consider retaining and supporting students till graduation is the fruit of this relationship.
As a student at QU, there are always numerous new opportunities before you. We encourage you all to take advantage of the wonderful resources available, and to meet with your academic advisors within the first week and through of each semester. We wish you all at QU a fulfilling and mind-opening journey of personal and academic growth.
Best Wishes,
Wedad Abdulla Rebeeh
