Each student in the Mass Communications Program will be appointed a faculty advisor who may advise them with the following:
- Ensure that students are aware of the department's requirements for graduation.
 - Arranging appropriate internships and work experience with the department’s partners in the public relations and media industries (e.g. The Qatar News Agency, Qatar’s Ministry of the Interior).
 - Suggest extra-curricular activities and opportunities that are relevant to the curriculum and to students’ chosen career areas.
 - Helping students develop their professional and intellectual abilities and interests.
 - Reduce barriers to student success.
 - Troubleshooting administrative, bureaucratic and curricular problems.
