The Central Laboratories Unit (QUCLU) serves the analytical needs of the Qatar University (QU) scientific community, continuously striving to enhance its performance in alignment with the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards. QUCLU has maintained its accreditation from the American Association of Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) since its first achievement in 2010. Over the years, additional methods have been added and accredited, with efforts currently underway to add further methods to the accreditation portfolio.
The primary mission of QUCLU is to provide high-quality research and chemical analysis services, with client satisfaction being the goal. Achieving this satisfaction requires fostering trust in the accuracy and reliability of our methods and results. QUCLU’s accredited methods support the testing of hundreds of samples, generating vast amounts of data for environmental, industrial, and research applications. Accreditation ensures that:
The methods used are suitable for their intended purpose.
The data produced is accurate, reliable, and trustworthy.
Accredited methods increase client confidence and open opportunities for additional business, as regulatory authorities in various countries do not accept results from non-accredited methods. Below is an overview of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited methods at QUCLU:
Quantitative Analysis by EDS (ASTM 2019E 1508-12a)
Analysis of Minerals and Trace Metals in Water Using ICP-MS (US EPA 200.8)
Determination of Sodium & Potassium in Water by Ion Chromatography (ASTM D 6919)
The list of ISO 17025 accredited methods at QUCLU is continuously updated and made available on the VPRGS website, ensuring transparency and access to the full scope of services provided.
