Humanitarian AI: Strengthening AI Capacity for Humanitarian Organizations in Qatar
This project sits at the intersection of responsible AI, humanitarian governance, and national policy, an area of growing strategic importance for Qatar and the wider region. It has benefited from high-level national alignment through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), which chaired the first national Technical Working Group on the use of AI in the humanitarian sector, co-chaired by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD). This national-level support has been instrumental in positioning the initiative not merely as a stand-alone academic exercise, but as a nationally anchored effort with the potential to shape institutional practice, ethical governance, and the future adoption of humanitarian AI in Qatar.
