Dr. Rony Ramez Ibrahim Assistant Professor of Biomechanics, QU
Dr. Rony Ibrahim is an Assistant Professor of Biomechanics at Qatar University’s College of Sport Sciences, specializing in human movement analysis, musculoskeletal modeling, and data-driven performance optimization. His research integrates artificial intelligence, wearable sensing, and multi-body dynamics to transform real-time evaluation and biofeedback solutions of human movement in sports and exercise.
A significant part of his work focuses on the biomechanics of goalkeeper diving saves in football, investigating kinematic and kinetic determinants of performance, talent identification, and training strategies. His findings have contributed to innovative frameworks adopted by coaches and performance analysts worldwide to enhance goalkeeper physical readiness, reaction capabilities, and technical execution.
He leads multiple national innovation projects and collaborations across Qatar’s health and sports ecosystem, while also pioneering a novel “Unified Tait-Bryan Matrix Pattern” (UTMP) for robust 3D joint kinematics.
Beyond research, he actively drives capacity-building and global engagement in sport science. He Chaired the Organization of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports (ISBS) Conference 2025 in Doha, the first edition hosted in the MENA region, supporting Qatar’s vision for innovation-led sports excellence.
