The Research Planning and Quality Office comprises two sections: the Research Planning Section and the Research Quality Section. These two sections collaborate to achieve the objectives of the Research Planning and Quality Office.
Research Planning Section Responsibilities
- Participate in the strategic planning of Qatar University alongside the Research Executive Committee to identify initiatives, projects, and performance indicators for strategic objectives related to scientific research and innovation.
- Collect, prepare, analyze, and report research and graduate studies data at the institutional level to meet senior management requests and provide accurate data supporting strategic decision-making.
- Contribute to the review process of research entities to ensure their alignment with Qatar University’s goals and research priorities, aiding in strategic decisions regarding the support or improvement of these entities.
- Analyze research outputs and the trends of research entities in alignment with Qatar University’s research priorities and the National Development Strategy, assisting senior management in developing strategic plans to enhance research quality and impact.
- Review and audit all aspects of research databases for Qatar University researchers to identify strengths, weaknesses, and challenges in research productivity, contributing to the realization of the university's vision and enhancing collaboration among researchers.
- Work on strategic initiatives that support the direction of the Research and Graduate Studies sector, fulfilling national needs.
- Support strategic risk analysis within the Research and Graduate Studies sector to identify and evaluate potential risks, enabling the sector to take preventive measures and improve the sustainability of research performance.
Research Quality Section Responsibilities
- Prepare analytical reports on research productivity to support strategic decision-making.
- Review and audit all aspects of research databases for Qatar University researchers to identify strengths, weaknesses, and challenges in research productivity, contributing to the realization of the university's vision and enhancing collaboration among researchers.
- Manage internal and international external audit processes related to proficiency testing procedures for techniques and operations in research and academic entities, including preparation and follow-up to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Update the scientific equipment database at Qatar University to ensure the availability of accurate information regarding equipment, enhancing the efficient use of research resources.
